What you’ll do on a typical day.
Ensure that collection activities (customer interactions and collection call volume standards) are performed on all accounts with a past due Accounts Receivable (AR) balance
Drive performance metrics, such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) Aging accounts and bad debt percentage
Establish relationships with business partners in sales, onboarding, corrections, credit and billing to drive strategic performance metrics
Partner in the development of the collection system strategy that includes the delivery of strategic and operational processes and system processes
Analyze data to make recommendations on forecasting budgets, service measurements and staffing needs
Drive improvements in collection system strategy including changes in operational, SOPs and training.
Participate in planning and estimate cycles for setting goals for the collection’s organization based on fluctuations in the economic environment.
Collaborate with team on accounts to proactively identify areas of potential risk to mitigate escalations.
Effectively communicate updates to senior management on accounts status/challenges and collection strategy of collections by team, in addition to individual risks within the portfolio of accounts.
Understand and practice the requirements of the SOX and Internal Controls for the department with the ability to identify deficiencies in the requirements and support procedure changes to mitigate risk.
Promote a positive and engaged team through creation of a supportive and engaging work environment that promotes collaboration, training and development
Coach, develop and motivate team in reaching new skills, knowledge and effective communication
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
5 years of experience in B2B collections, supervisor or manager level experience working with software and system tools that support the collections process
Experience with Microsoft Office
It’d be great if you also have:
Transportation industry or accounts receivable/financial services experience
