Performs daily processing of customer receivables for Retail and Wholesale Credit. Coordinates with financial institutions to ensure accurate and timely application of payments to SSC accounts. Consistently and accurately applies the policies and procedures of the Credit Department to balance and administer assigned accounts. Relies on accounting expertise to resolve general and complex inquires.
Essential Job Functions
Receive, audit, and apply payments to customer accounts, including interdivision journal entries through advance accounts. Work with banks or other payment processors on payment application.
Consistently apply Credit Policy to returned payments, payment discounts, and finance charges under general direction.
Prepare electronic funds transfer (EFT) transactions for both customers and Treasury Department within established guidelines and ensure proper system entry.
Assist with credit card chargebacks and resolution of overcharges. Support both customers and stores using credit card processor Web tools. Confirm accurate reimbursement from credit card processor.
Communicate with Services and Member Cooperatives for coordination and instruction on resolution of unmatched John Deere Financial (JDF) items.
Perform monthly reconciliation of bank, A/R and equity accounts to the general ledger and associated monthly reports.
Support Action Team with resolution of escalated customer inquiries, including reconciliation of customer accounts with SSC, JDF or Patronage related items. Consistently comply with Credit Department procedures and established thresholds when any changes to customer accounts and monetary records are required.
Assist in the issuance, transfer and redemption of patronage refunds, stocks, debentures and dividends for Services, Member Cooperatives and Private Dealers. Ensure control procedures are in place and operating as designed.
Process yearly items related to patronage which includes 1099s, patronage refund, revolvement and redemption checks. Assist in updating systems and procedures in order to maintain compliance with relevant federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements for the company, subsidiaries, affiliated and Member Cooperatives.
Conduct and administer routine patronage and accounting functions. Perform the reconciliation of various accounts in coordination with Corporate and Retail Accounting and the Tax Department.
Assist in the research of credit bureau disputes in a timely manner.
Perform all other job functions as assigned.
